Dennis Leroy Alley
February 17, 1952 - June 30, 2020
Dennis Leroy Alley also know as 'Alley Cat,' 68, of Holton, Kansas moved onto his next adventure June 30, 2020, at Midland Hospice in Topeka, Kansas.
Dennis, a small town man, was born and raised in Holton, Kansas to Roy and Mildred (Duffy) Alley of Holton, Kansas.
Dennis graduated from Holton High School in 1970. Due to the recent Covid pandemic, the 50th reunion was canceled. He was a very proud Holton alumni, and was excited to reunite with his classmates.
Throughout life, Dennis drove a semi for various employers that allowed him to travel the states. He was also in the cattle trade business from a very early age. As a kid, his family owned and operated Alley & Duffy Locker Service located locally in Holton where he learned to butcher.
Onery was a common word used to describe Dennis. In his younger days, he was always up to something. Usually nothing good. His daughters loved to hear their Dad tell the misadventures of his younger days. Especially of him with his buddy Fat. He would mimic Fat's lisp, and have his girls cackling like hens in no time. Alley Cat was also known for cooking up some crazy things. He loved to BBQ! He was known by all for his home made BBQ sauce and smoked ribs.
Good ol' country music, a fishing pole, and cold beer were some of his favorites on these summer days. His legacy will definitely be remembered. Everyone he touched has a memory of the old man. Some good, and probably some not so good. But, he was a kind man with a loving heart for those that really knew him.
Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, and a daughter, Arin L. Alley.
Survivors include a daughter, Reva Alley (Tobias Cowdin), a step-son Ryan Alley, his long time best friend, Cowboy, grand-pup, Anna, and many cousins and friends.
Cremation has taken place, and a private graveside service will be at a later date at the Holton Cemetary. Family plans to have a memorial gathering once the Covid pandemic eases, and the Kansas heat lays off.
