Barbara R. Lewis

 

Barbara R. Lewis passed away with her family at her side on 19th of August 2026 at the age of 86. Barbara was born 6th of April 1940 in Emporia, Kansas, to Floyd Franklin Ragsdale in Florence Edna Feik. Barbara raised three daughters and two sons in Topeka , Kansas , where Barbara spent 25+ years working at Josten until retiring.

She was preceded in death by her two sons , a daughter , her parents and four sisters and a brother. And it survived by two brothers , two sisters , two daughters , as well as numerous grandchildren and great and great great grandchildren.

 

Barbara was a woman who could never be described as ordinary , and she certainly was never meant to be easily defined or easily forgotten. She was strong willed fiercely independent, and most of all, unafraid to speak her mind. Barbara lived life on her own terms, with a determination that could move mountains, and the spirit that refused to be broken. She knew who she was, what she believed, and she was never afraid to stand her ground. Barbara did not always take the easy road, but she took her own road.  Leaving an unmistakable mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her.She could be stubborn, outspoken, and sometimes impossible to persuade. But those qualities were not only a part of the strength and courage that made her the person she was.

 

Barbara faced hardships that could have defeated a lesser spirit,yet she continued to stand, endure, and kept moving forward no matter the cost. She taught her children and grandchildren that strength does not mean never falling, it meant finding the courage to rise again, along with the lessons and perseverance, independence, and resilience simply by living her life.

 

She was a mother, daughter, sister, grandmothe, friend and so much more. Her presence could fill a room, her words could make an impression, and her personality was impossible to overlook... Barbara left a mark on the lives of those fortunate enough to know her. Her absence will be felt in the quiet moments, family gatherings, familiar places, and memories that bring not only a smile to your face but tears, Barbara's legacy will live on through the people she loved, the lessons she taught, and the strength she passed on.

 

Her journey on this earth has come to an end, but her story will continue in the hearts of those she left behind. Her strength lives on in those she touched. Her love lives on in those who were fortunate enough to receive it. And her memory will live on forever.

 

May Barbara finally rest in peace, knowing that she not only mattered but was loved and will never be forgotten. In Barbara's famous words STFU!

 

And keeping with Barbara's wishes, no formal funeral service will be held. She will be cremated and laid to rest with her children.
