Brother Emmett (Pete) Leatherwood was born on August 12, 1952, in Aberdeen MS. To Mother Rosie Lee and Father Willie B Leatherwood. He was the third child of 12 children. Both his parents, sister (Lillie Leatherwood), brother (Willie H Leatherwood), his nephew (Jessie Logan), great nephew (Dajuan B Williams JR) and his friend/brother-in-law (Samuel James) all proceeded him in death.

Emmett (Pete) received his education in Chicago, IL school system. He worked in many different occupations.

Emmett was born again and Baptized by Rev. Jeff Johnson JR of the Circle of Light Church. He was so happy to be born again.

He was a very funny, loving, and caring brother. Emmett was a great writer, he wrote poems, music, and many stories. His life took a turn, but God kept him until it was time to go home, Emmett has his ticket. God called him home, he’s now in the arms of God.

He leaves to cherish his memory his brother Bernard Leatherwood of California, sister RoseMary James of St. Louis, MO and brother Darnell Leatherwood of Oklahoma. Host of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, and cousins, sisters and brothers of the Circle of Life Church.
