JULY 17, 1972 - JANUARY 07, 2026
Carolyn Vereen was born in High Point, North Carolina July 17th, 1972 to parents Richard Vereen and Luella Traynham Vereen. After the passing of her mom she moved to Kansas to live with her sister Debra at the age of 14. Carolyn was the hardest worker anyone has ever seen. Instilling hard work, education, resilience, and never quitting in each of her kids. Carolyn had led by example of being independent and working hard for anything that you wanted in life. From spending years in Flint HIlls Place, to moving to the SouthSide of Manhattan, Kansas after years of hard work and dedication to getting her home she had always talked about in GrandView Plaza, Kansas right outside of Junction City, Kansas. Carolyn is a mother of 5 kids, her son Bryan Vereen and 4 daughters, Shequoyia Vereen, Precola Vereen, Arzula Vereen, and Indya Vereen. Carolyn Vereen also a grandmother of 10 with 2 granddaughters Kahleina Vereen (Shequoyia's daughter) and Kyanah Vereen (Bryan's daughter) and 8 grandson's Izayah Vereen (Bryan's son), Maverick Vereen (Shequoyia's son), Hayden (Bryan's son), Kyson Vereen (Bryan's son), Christopher J Vereen-Yeadon (Precola's son), Nayvadius (Indya's son), Bennicio (Shequoyia's son), and Kamelo Vereen (Arzula's son). Carolyn will always be remembered for her loud laughing, being proud to introduce her kids to any and everyone she knew or did not know out in public, talking over the TV when watching shows and movies, and being a tough person. A young woman that has dealt with so much adversity at such a young age, but prevailed and made a way through it all. Some may know her as Carolyn, some may know her as "Cookie," but to her kids she will always be mom. She will be loved and missed. Through her mispronunciation of words and her talks about North Carolina she will always be remembered.
You definitely showed your kids that no matter how long it takes to get what you want in life it doesn’t matter who doubts you. All we can do is continue to make you proud and as much as we “wish” that we could “wish” things would and could have been different we have to remain strong and have you leave here knowing that “no matter how long it takes” we can achieve whatever we set our minds to. We miss you and love you and miss you more than you could ever know. We’ve made it through some challenging times. But we were meant to be strong. Just like our motto “THE FEW, THE PROUD, THE VEREEN’s!!”
May she be forgiven for her mistakes as she did all she could with all she had. May she be in peace and relieved from all the pain she may had endured and held onto for years. She will always be missed and loved by her family, friends, kids and grand kids. WE LOVE YOU MOM!
