David Williams, of Topeka, Kansas, passed away on October 26, 2026, in Topeka. He was born on April 12, 1949, in Culver, Kansas, to Denzil Leroy Williams and Theda Darlene Morris Williams.
In his later years, David worked as a paraprofessional at Highland Park in Topeka. It gave him steady work and people to see each day, and some of them became friends. Earlier in life, he spent many years as a traveling salesman, a television salesman, and a liquor store owner. Work came and went over the years, but he always found his way to the next opportunity.
Outside of work, David enjoyed fishing, his dogs, and traveling to explore new places. Whether he was with friends, coworkers, or his dogs, he appreciated the companionship and memories that made life meaningful.
David’s life had its struggles, and he made choices that were hard on the people who loved him. Through it all, his family loved him deeply. What David could never quite grasp was how much. He never allowed himself to see his own potential, or to fully take in the love that was always there for him. Sometimes love has to be given from a distance, for the safety and peace of everyone, with prayers that he would find that peace too. His family loves him, and they forgive him.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Denzil Leroy Williams and Theda Darlene Morris Williams; his first wife, Suzann Williams; and his second wife, Annie Gatewood Williams.
He is survived by his son, Nathan Williams, and Nathan’s wife, Bridgette; his granddaughters, Emily, Sophia, and Olivia; and friends who will remember him fondly.
He leaves behind many memories and people whose lives were touched by knowing him.
