Delores Ann (Klahr) Vitt

Delores Ann (Klahr) Vitt 86 of Auburn passed away peacefully January 14, 2022.  She was born September 4, 1935 in Wetmore the daughter of Arthur and Wilma (Rannebeck) Klahr.  She attended Hazel Row Grade School and Netawaka High School graduating in 1953 then graduated from Topeka Clark’s Business School in 1954.  Delores met her husband of over 63 years Gerald at the Topeka Santa Fe Offices and they were married July 6, 1958.  They would together own and operate two Dairy Queen stores in Topeka and eventually bought a farm in Auburn where they worked side by side for over 40 years in the grain, cattle and hog business while raising two daughters.  Delores later worked for the State of Kansas as administrative assistants for SRS and BOA before retiring and helping raise her three beautiful granddaughters.  They were also longtime members of Faith and Prince of Peace Lutheran Churches greatly loving all family and friends throughout the years.  Delores was preceded in death by her parents, sister Donnis McCall and brother Duane Klahr.  Survivors include a brother Delwin Klahr, two sisters Darlene Wulfkuhle and Donna Porter, her husband Gerald, two daughters Terri Worley (Dwain) and Penny Letourneau (Lane), and three granddaughters Emily and Molly Worley and Laken Letourneau.  There will be a private family celebration of life at a later date.
