March 20, 1960 - December 20, 2020
Dixon J Vincent, aka John Vincent, of Topeka, Kansas passed away in the early morning on December 20, 2020 at Hospice Midland Care of Topeka. He was born in Topeka on March 20, 1960 to parents Dixon J Vincent of Grand Junction, CO and Joyce M Lake of Topeka, KS, both deceased.
Dixon was a Seaman High School graduate. He joined the army and was stationed in Germany. He worked at M. Katch, and Company, now Langley Recycling, for several years. He went on to obtain his CDL License and worked for Meier’s Ready Mix as a dump truck and cement mixer driver.
Dixon had many hobbies and interests and participated in a wide variety of activities including; boxing, rodeos, and demolition derbies. He loved collecting and working on cars. He enjoyed fishing and received a few Master Angler awards for catching 50+ pound flat heads out of the Kansas River. He was the founder of the Narcotics Anonymous group, HUGS. He loved motorcycles and was a member of ABATE. Dixon lived his life to the fullest. He worked hard and partied even harder.
Dixon is survived by his wife, Norma Figgs of Topeka, His daughter Dixie (Aaron) Keller of Liberty, MO, his sons Michael and James (Josie) Vincent of Topeka, his three grandchildren, Lilly Keller, Bridget Vincent, and Michael Vincent.
Dixon will be laid to rest at Westlawn Memorial Gardens close to his mother, grandparents, and siblings. Memorial contributions can be made to Valeo Recovery Center and ABATE.
