April 19, 1954 - June 03, 2022
Gail Su Ling Chang, 68, of Junction City, Kansas, passed away June 3, 2022 in Topeka, Kansas, with family and friends by her side.
Gail was born to the late Dr. Marilyn Bradshaw and Dr. Richard Chang, April 19, 1954, in Anchorage, Alaska. A few years later, they moved back to Honolulu, Hawaii where she continued to grow up with her brother and sister. Gail graduated from Hawaii School for Girls (now known as LaPietra) in 1972.
She married John Scheleski in 1980, and they lived together with their dog, Boo Boo in DeKalb, Illinois for six years before relocating back to Honolulu. They later divorced after 25 years. Gail is survived by two children: Linda Chang, of Honolulu, Hawaii; and Helen Kelly, of Topeka, Kansas; her siblings: Brad, Lisa, and Richard; two grandchildren: Jake and Avery; and her cat, Lily.
Gail moved to Junction City in 2016 to be close to her daughter and grandchildren. During this time, she worked at the Manhattan Home Depot and enjoyed talking with anyone she met. Those who knew Gail, knew her fondness for reading. As such, she loved using her position at The Home Depot to make others laugh and share her stories.
No funeral service is currently scheduled, but a celebration of life ceremony will be announced at a future date. In lieu of flowers, the family is accepting donations for purchasing a star in her name and making a contribution to support local libraries. If you feel so inclined, donations are being made to the Gail “Gaisu” Chang Memorial Fund at https://www.paypal.com/pools/
