Helen “Kay” Lynn
09/06/1952 – 11/04/2024

An informal graveside memorial along with the burial of the Ashe’s will be held on Sunday November 17th at 12:30pm at:

Kay, age 72, took her last breath Tuesday November 4th at 12:45am at Life Care Center in Burlington KS. Preceded in passing by her parents; Tom Poyner Harp and Cynthia “Helen” Pearl Graves Harp, and her brothers, William “Bill or Billy” Ray Harp and Tommy “Rex” Harp. Kay left behind her loving husband of 32 years Donald “Don” Lee Lynn, her two daughters Shanna Michelle Harp Lemen and Hassie Melinda Edens Harder and son in law Scott Brant Harder. Grandchildren: Ryan Eugene Lemen, Tyler Benjamin Lemen, Aaron Chase Lemen,Emily Annette Harder. Great grandson Silas Benjamin Lemen.

When Don met Kay, he was smitten by her beauty and her bold personality. She had a stubborn determination to get her way. It was a quality that he most admired. He matched her relentlessness with that of his own. He said, “It only took me 7 proposals to get her to say yes!” She was his whole world. Kay had strong opinions and never hesitated to freely share them in the brutally honest way that only she knew how. She loved her family with all of her heart, bragging constantly about her girls and grandchildren. She loved her nieces and nephews and loved being their “Aunt Kay”! In her earlier years she kept a spotless home and took pride in receiving compliments on having a clean home and clean children. She was an exceptional cook. Every night she put a full homemade meal on the table in serving dishes. She made homemade bread, candy, salsa, and so much more. If you ask her, no one could make better stuffing and deviled eggs than she could.

One thing many people might know about Kay is that she loved to read her bible and prayers before dinner were encouraged. She would consider herself a “spiritual” person with a good judgement of character.

When her children entered High School Kay decided to get her GED so that she could go to vocational school for truck driving. She passed her CDL and fulfilled her dream of becoming a cross-country truck driver. Kay had many health complications that not only forced her into early retirement but also stole many quality years from her. She fought as long as she could and will be greatly missed. She would like all to know that she is finally at the peace she deserves.
