Jayna R. Kasson, 63, passed away on February 20, 2026.
 
Born on March 9th, 1962 in Topeka the daughter of Wayne and Joyce Kasson. Graduated from Royal Valley High School class of 1980.
 
Jayna was an incredibly bright spirit who never knew a stranger. She had a rare gift for making everyone feel welcome, valued, and loved. Her warmth, laughter, and open heart left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. She shared her love and joy freely, and her light will continue to shine in the many lives she touched.
 
She is survived by her father, Wayne L. Kasson; her sisters, Lori Kasson, Susan Kasson and Kim (Rod) Lister; her children, James D. Kaberline, Kyle (Tara) Kaberline and Mazi (Tyler) Barnes; and her beloved granddaughter, Waverly R. Barnes. She also leaves behind an endless stream of amazing friends who have without a doubt became family through the years.
 
Jayna is reunited in peace with her mother, Joyce Kasson, along with many cherished friends who went before her.
 
Her legacy is one of kindness, connection, and unconditional love. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
 
A Celebration of life will be held for Jayna on March 14th at 1pm at the Ozawkie American Legion 10114 Old Town Trail, Ozawkie, KS 66070. The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations be made to the Jefferson County Humane Shelter in Jaynas honor.

    I was saddened to hear and read about losing your beautiful mama. She had the most amazing soul and welcomed many in her arm's throughout her lifetime. Her smile was contagious and her enormous hugs were always wrapped with love. She possessed distinct strength and unwavering determination to overcome adversity. Her heart was filled with kindness, and her soul nurtured very deep and profound relationships. She was surrounded by a beautiful family and a multitude of friend's, who cherished her deeply and daily. The numerous lives she touched will continue to thrive through the amazing memories created. Her legacy will live on and another star will shine brightly in the sky...symbolizing peace. Thinking of all of you and hope each of your memories continue to help you through the day's ahead.

  • Wayne and Family. We are so sorry to hear of the loss of Jayna. She was always smiling and a delight to see. It is hard to comprehend that she is gone. We all are praying for each of you during this trying time. There are no words that make loss any easier. Only the memories to keep her alive. May you each find comfort in all those that surround you during this time. God bless each of you. She will be greatly missed but not forgotten.
