JUNE 14, 1956 - AUGUST 13, 2024
Joey Dean Hutchinson, born June 14,1956 went to be with his Heavenly Father on August 13,2024 after 2 long years battling cancer. Joey grew up in Baldwin City, KS. He graduated from Baldwin High School in 1974.
He played basketball as a freshman, was a football manager for two years, and was on the tennis team for 3 years. He was a member of Kays for two years and spent two years in Letterman Club. (BClub). He was an avid butterfly collector, lifelong sports card collector and Hot Wheels collector. Joey enjoyed playing golf as well as bowling.
In the mid 70's Joey was employed at Baldwin Lanes. He also worked for Baldwin Flooring, King Radio in Ottawa, as well as Walmart Distribution Center in Ottawa and finished out his 27 years at Walmart in Manhattan, KS in Asset Protection. Some of his favorite times with Walmart were the times he spent at conventions and the many 2nd family friends that he made.
Joey is survived by his wife Brenda (Douglas) Hutchinson of Wamego, KS, His former wife, Penny Needham of Ottawa, their two sons, a daughter, a step-daughter and five grandchildren. They are: Christopher (Dawn) Hutchinson and their daughter, Elise, of Wellsville, Tyler Hutchinson and his daughter Alaine of Ottawa, Alisha(Taylor) Glock and their two sons Bensen and Weston of Lawson, MO and Jennifer Halinski and her son Kayson of Wamego, as well as a sister, Joan McDaniels of Ottawa, KS and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Merl and Mary(Vanatta) Hutchinson of Baldwin City and a sister, Barbara (Hutchinson) Chambers of Ft. Worth, TX.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Wellsville Community Center, 707 Locust, Wellsville, KS on Sunday, October 20,2024 from 1 to 3 pm.
