Joey Raymond Whitt 78 of Topeka Ks, passed away in his home on April 7 2022, Joey was born on April 4, 1944 in Brooks West Virginia to Wallace and Maudie Whitt, Joey was one of twelve children.  Joey served in the United States Army was a tanker and expert marksman during the Korean war.  Joey received an honorable discharge in September of 1970. He was stationed in Fort Riley after returning to the states this is where he met and married Linda Stewart the couple having three children.  Joey and Linda were later divorced, and Joey married Deborah Whiteman, Joey and Deborah had one child together. 

Joey is survived by three of his children: Dale Whitt of San Antonio, Texas, Bobbie Jo Kramm (Nathaniel) of Wamego, and Jodi Whitt of Topeka, 7 grandchildren, 3 Sisters, Pearl, Jeanette, Phyllis, 2 brothers Jimmy and Jerry and many close friends and extended family members.   

He is preceded in death by both of his parents, a son and best friend Mark Whitt (2021), and 6 siblings Magalene, Nathan, Ray, Ralph, David, and Taz.  

Joey served as a Steward for the local Teamsters 696 Union in Topeka and was a cement truck driver for many years.  Joey was known by many for his ability to fix any vehicle, after retiring from the union he spent his time fixing up and selling vehicles.  There wasn’t a problem he couldn’t solve when it came to an engine large or small.  Joey looked forward to every April/May when the crappie would spawn at Tuttle Creek Lake where he had a secret fishing spot out at “Johnnie's cabin” one of his good friends' places on the lake. Joey loved to travel to Colorado and spent many family vacations in the mountains. Joey could be very ornery and if you were close to him, you likely became a recipient of his pranks, he loved to make people laugh.  He was a great Dad, Grandpa and friend and will be missed by many.  

Family will celebrate the life of Joey Whitt at a graveside service on August 13, 2022 at 2pm at The St. George cemetery.
