Kathleen "Kathy" Ann Schaal passed away peacefully in her home on November 22, 2019 in Topeka, KS. She was 60.
Kathy was born on July 18, 1959 to Earl William “Bill” and Doris Carlson in Olathe, KS. She graduated from Kaw Area with her LPN in 2002. She went on to graduate from MATC as a RN in 2010. She enjoyed many jobs including her favorites: Kozy Kitchen, Plaza West, and most recently, Elara Caring (Grace Hospice as she would like to remember it by).
To her family, she was known as a survivor and their rock, overcoming many obstacles and hardships. She moved around the states frequently as a young woman, accompanied by her built-in best friend and daughter, Melissa Warbritton. She is best known for her contagious laugh, outspoken attitude, and her extreme love for the Kansas City Chiefs! The love and compassion with which she provided for the people she cared for during their end of life journeys, as well as their families, will forever bring peace and comfort to all on the receiving end.
Kathy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Melissa and Michael Warbritton of Silver Lake, KS; her grandson Blaine Warbritton; and her granddaughters Autumn Warbritton and Haley Warbritton; She is preceded in death by her parents Bill and Doris Carlson; her brothers Earl William Carlson, Jr., and Gary Lee Carlson; Aunt Frankie Hulsopple; and other extended family members.
There will be a celebration of Kathy’s life, date and location to be determined.
