Linda J. Stansell

Linda J. Stansell, 83, passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024, at RestWell Home Plus, in
Oskaloosa, Kansas.

Linda was born in Sioux City, Iowa, on June, 15, 1941, the third daughter born to Wes and Rena
Arthur. The family soon moved to Valley Falls, Kansas where Linda’s parents opened Arthur’s
Café. It was a family-run affair where older sisters Shirley and Rhesa worked before Linda was
old enough to contribute as well. After graduating from Valley Falls High School, Linda attended
Kansas State University for a period of time.

Linda lived most of her life in Valley Falls. She worked as school secretary at Valley Falls High
School for many years before taking roles with the Kansas State High School Activities
Association and then Commerce Bank in Topeka. She was a frequent organist at the First
Christian Church and occasionally at Coal Creek Methodist Church in Valley Falls.

Linda is preceded in death by her parents, Wes and Rena; sister Rhesa; son, Brett; and
husband, Frank.

Linda is survived by her sister, Shirley Allen, Holton; her son, David Lassiter, Chicago; and
many caring relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 pm on Sun. Aug 18 at the Kendall Bank Hall. Memorial
