Mary Alice (Perry) Patterson

 

Mary Alice (Perry) Patterson of Topeka,Kansas passed away peacefully on July 2, 2026. Born on July 6, 1933 in Higginsville, Missouri to John and Ella Perry. She was the second of six daughters. Mary married Patrick Patterson (deceased) on january 1, 1984.

 

Mary graduated from lincoln highschool in Kansas City, Missouri in 1949. She worked for the federal government for thirty seven years and retired when she was 55 years old. She lived in Kansas City, Missouri for most of her life where she was a dedicated member of Ward Chapel A.M.E Church. Mary moved to topeka , kansas in 2021 be closer to her sister, Carmen. Mary was a great cook and a devoted caregiver who will be dearly missed. 

 

Mary is survived by her sister Carmen (Howell)  Johnson;  nephews: Monte (Erika) Nash, Dwayne (Tina) Hill, Derek (Shelby) Walker, Todd (Kristi) Hilliard;  nieces: Erin (Matt) Burge,  Jill (Rob) Ximenez,  Millicent Morrow, Kim (Gene) Trent,  Lori Hilliard and great nieces and nephews.

 

Mary was preceded in death by her husband Patrick Patterson, parents John and Ella Perry,  sisters: , Portia Morrow, Eunice Lewis, Ramona Nash, and Dorothy Hilliard. In accordance with Mary's wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be planned for a later date.
