Nicholas F. Arace, I

Nicholas F. Arace, I

September 1, 1952 - July 13, 2020

Nicholas Frank Arace was born on September 1st, 1952 at 9:51PM to Gaetano and Marguerite Arace. He was the third child out of what would be five.

He was proceeded in death by his parents; and sisters, Laura and Sharon. He is survived by his wife Karen, just shy of 40 years married; four children and their spouses; Michael and wife Ruthanne Arace of Kansas City, daughter Jennifer of Olathe, daughter Angelica (Arace) and husband Sean Sherman of Olathe, and son Nicholas of Olathe; nine grandchildren; Hope, Chealsie, Desiree, Debbie, Ethen, Bryleigh, Madeleine, Peyton, and Julian; siblings, Carol of Topeka, and John and his wife Terri of Topeka; numerous niece;, nephews; grand-nieces; and grand-nephews.; and many dear friends.

Nick loved the Yankees, a good steak, a nice rack...of ribs, live music, and singing. Nick was a spitfire. He loved to tell stories. He loved his grandchildren so very much, making sure he always had Smarties for when they would see him.

Christmas was his favorite holiday. Later in his life, he embraced the fact that he resembled Santa Claus. From November 1st until Christmas he would wear his Santa hat.  He loved to go around town and let children come up to him and tell him their Christmas wishes. Throughout the years, so many children remembered him and would plead with their parents to go to Nick’s favorite spots for a moment to see ‘Santa’.

Nick would want each of you to remember that the only person you have to impress, is yourself.
