Opal Luvina Baker

Opal Luvina Baker, 89, of Topeka, Kansas passed away peacefully on July 5th, 2023 at Peggy Kelly House of Topeka mere hours before her 90th birthday. 

Opal was born July 6th 1933 in Topeka ks, the daughter of Seth and Annabelle (West) Roseborough.  She was married twice before meeting the love of her life Leslie Eugene Baker who proceeded her in death. 

Opal is survived by two daughters, Leslie (Harry) Robertson of Naselle Wa, and Brenda Baker of Topeka Ks. She is proceed in death by 5 children, Barry Theurer, Roy Hagerty, John Baker sr, Jeanine Avila, and Tyson Baker.  She is also survived by grandchildren, Shawn Theurer , Brent Theurer, Brian Theruer, Mikey Theurer, Bambie Theurer, Jim (Molly) Robertson, Melissa Garber, Jeremy (Marne) Robertson,  A.J. Barhum, John Jr. (Rachel) Baker, Jeffrey(Channel) Baker, Jesse Baker Christopher Gage, Bradley Gage, Jerica Duncan. Tanya (Kevin) Trueblood, Danielle(Robert) Pattinson, and Dale Avila Jr.  She also had over 35 great and great-great grandchildren.

 Opal loved watching westerns, good ol’ country music, baking, John Wayne, and hot coffee. She was well known for her world famous fudge. Opal also known as Grandma Apple, will always be remembered as a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend.

  Opal will be cremated. There will be no services. The family of Opal would like to think Peggy Kelly house of Topeka and Ascend Hospice for the amazing care, companionship and love you provided for her.
