Patricia Louise Bockenstette, lovingly known as Pat, peacefully passed away on December 10, 2023, in Abilene, Kansas, at the age of 84. She was born on April 19, 1939, in Topeka, Kansas, to Joseph and Barbara Jacobs. Pat was preceded in death by her beloved parents, as well as her older brother Robert, younger brother Joseph, and younger sister Mary Christine.
 
Patricia was a devoted single mother who raised two cherished sons in a nurturing and loving home. Her unwavering love and dedication to her family will forever be remembered and treasured. Pat found solace and joy in the art of quilting, creating beautiful pieces that were a testament to her creativity and skill. She also found great pleasure in the world of literature, indulging in the works of renowned author James Patterson, with detective Hercule Poirot being a particular favorite.
 
Throughout her professional journey, Pat served as a respected Team Leader at ALCO in Abilene, Kansas, and contributed her talents as an Office Assistant in the USDA Farm Service Agency in Manhattan, Kansas. Her commitment to her work and her exceptional work ethic were admired by all who had the pleasure of working alongside her.
 
Patricia received her education at Hayden Catholic High School and continued her pursuit of knowledge at Kansas State University in Salina, Kansas. She held education in high regard and believed in the transformative power of learning.
 
Pat's faith played a significant role in her life, and she found solace and guidance in her spiritual community at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Abilene, Kansas. Her unwavering devotion and participation in religious activities brought her comfort and strength.
 
Beyond her professional and religious pursuits, Pat found joy in various hobbies, including sewing, quilting, reading, and driving. These activities allowed her to express her creativity, find solace, and explore the world through literature.
 
Patricia is survived by her cherished younger sister, Barbara Miller of Canyon County, California, as well as her beloved sons, Joseph A. Bockenstette III of Abilene, Kansas, and R. Curtis Bockenstette of Salina, Kansas. Their lives have been forever enriched by her love and guidance.
 
In lieu of flowers to honor Pat L. Bockenstette's memory, contributions can be made to Home Health & Hospice of Dickinson County. By supporting this charitable organization, we can continue to honor Pat's legacy of compassion and care for others.
 
The memory of Patricia Louise Bockenstette will forever be etched in the hearts of her family and friends. May she find eternal peace and rest in the embrace of her loved ones who have gone before her. The funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrews Catholic Church at 311 S. Buckeye, Abilene KS 67410 on Tuesday December 19th at 11:00 am and the Rite of Committal will be Mt. Calvary Cemetery Mausoleum Chapel at 801 SW Westchester Road, Topeka KS 66606 on Wednesday December 20th at 9:00 am.
