Paul Lamar Beck

Paul age 65, was born in Ft. Bragg, NC on March 14, 1956 and passed on to his Savior in heaven on September 12, 2021 in Topeka, Kansas.

Paul Lamar Beck was the son of Paul Estes Beck(deceased) and Dorie Bell Beck (deceased) and step mom, Mildred Cedonia Beck (deceased). He had a brother, John Durwood Beck also deceased. He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Lynnett Beck, sons, Paul Beck, Jr., Michael Beck (Erica), Jared Beck (Victoria), daughter, Nickol Gould ( Jeremy) and sharing his love for Lynnett’s children, Emiliano Nunez, Dominic Nunez, Maria Nunez, 7 grandchildren, brothers Carlton Fountain, Robert Beck (Kathy), sisters, Delores Forringer (Robert), Charlotte Hooks (Thomas), Kay Gabler (Randall), Sara Smith and Rita Smith.

Paul graduated from Menchville High School in Newport News, VA in 1974. He went to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Spring, CO where he studied Mechanical Engineering. He was active in the AF Academy Choir and sports, starting an AF Lacrosse team. He graduated in 1978. Paul received his commission as rank of Captain, flew C141 cargo planes around the world. He then returned to the AF academy and taught cadets to fly. He served 8 years.

He then went on to study Purchasing Management at Webster University. He worked for Payless Shoes Source for over 30 years. In the last few years, he worked for Bankers Life as an insurance agent and loved helping people.

As a teenager, he was actively involved in his church Youth Group and Choir, was also active in the churches he attended in worshipping on Praise and Worship teams. He and his wife were facilitators with Divorce Care for a number of years helping people through the pain and recovery. Paul loved to spend time playing games and cards with his family and friends. He loved telling jokes, and making everyone laugh.

Paul’s faith, devotion, and firm belief in God supported him throughout his life and ultimately gave him peace. He is now with his Lord and Savior. A Celebration of Life with a potluck will be held at The Foundry in Topeka, KS on October 3, 2021 from 1-5 PM.
