Randall (Randy) Scott Murray, 59, of Meriden, Kansas, passed away Saturday, February 12, 2022, at Stormont Vail Hospital due to heart disease and covid complications.  Randy was born on April 4, 1962, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Frank and Donna Murray (Boyer). In his youth, Randy raced motocross.  He began working with his Dad at a young age helping with the family septic tank business (Acme Septic Service).  As an adult, he was a heavy equipment operator and later owned and operated a septic and lateral business (A-Z Septic Service).

In the last few years of his life, he became ill with Vascular Dementia and heart disease.  He was a kind man during this time with a gentle heart.  He loved talking about his children and grandchildren and all of their accomplishments, going to family gatherings and other events with his sister Donita, and going out to eat at a local Mexican restaurant where he would partake in that one margarita.

Randy was preceded in death by his wife Shelly Helmick-Murray, his parents, his step-mother Rosie Murray, his infant brother Frankie J. Murray, step-sisters Shelly Mathews and Debra Athanas.

He is survived by his daughter Amanda Spingarn of Sunrise, FL, his son Andrew Murray in the US Navy, WA, and two step-sons, JD Randol of Peru and Dustin Randol of Topeka, KS.  He is also survived by his siblings: sisters Donita (Bill) Murray-Balusek of Topeka, KS and Janice (Duane) Pierce of Emporia, KS, brother Ronald (Alice) Murray of MO, step-brothers Christopher (Renee) Mathews of Greensburg, PA, and James Mathews of NM.  He is also survived by grandsons Levi and Daniel Spingarn of Sunrise, FL and step-grandsons Luke and Noah. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.

Cremation is planned. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 19, 2022, from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at Rock Creek Bible Church, 5257 K-92, Meriden, Kansas (the corner of K-4 and K-92 Hwys).  A memorial service will immediately follow the visitation and will conclude with a lunch at the church.  Memorial contributions may be made to Rock Creek Bible Church.
