Randy "Doobie" Johnson
Randy "Doobie" Johnson passed away on August 11, 2026, after a long illness.
He will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him, especially his life partner of 35 years, Valerie Pfeffer. Randy was known for his free spirit and the simple things he loved most - going shirtless, fishing, and growing a garden to share with friends. He was also an active member of ABATE, first with District 5 and more recently with District 1.
He is survived by his wife, Valerie Pfeffer; his sister, Joyce (Greg) McKanna; his sons, Joseph (Shelby) Johnson, Jerry Johnson, and Randy Johnson Jr.; his stepdaughter, Amanda (Steve) Hunt; his niece, Megan McKanna-Dorr; his uncle, Chester Pickens; several grandchildren, and a great niece.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Carrie Johnson; his father; his brother, Ronnie Johnson; and several aunts and uncles.
A Celebration of Life will be held on August 30, 2026, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at the American Legion in Ozawkie. All who knew Randy are invited to come, share memories, and raise a glass to their "Wild Man."
