Richard R.A. Rios

November 14, 1970 - January 30, 2023

Richard R.A. Rios of Topeka, KS passed from this life on January 30, 2023, he was 52 years old and will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him. Richie was born in Victorville, California on November 14, 1970 and grew up in Rialto, California having fun with family and friends. Richie moved to Topeka with his family in May, 1993. Richie met and married Carrie Ogden and they had four beautiful children. Later in life he went to art school and enjoyed frisbee golfing. Richie was creative and enjoyed painting and other arts and crafts. He loved his children and grandson. He was known for being generous, upbeat, sociable and standing up for what was right. Growing up in Rialto, Richie was active in playing baseball and football.

As a child Huero always had a bedtime and when I would go and check to make sure he was asleep, he would say, "Mom, I'm resting my eyes". When he got to high school he said, "Mom, I'm in high school now, I don't want a bedtime anymore. My response was "Ok, but the first time you don't wake up in time to get ready for school, your back to a bedtime. In our home in Rialto we lived in a cul-de-sac and there was a Palm Tree he could never pass when riding his bike or playing with the neighborhood kids. When he was 5, he came up to me with his backpack and I asked what he was doing and he said, "I'm running away from home". I said OK, and looked in his backpack and he had color books and crayons. I saw him walking down the street, he stopped and sat in front the Palm Tree he could not pass. After awhile he came home and I asked him, what happened and he said, "Mom, you said I couldn't pass the Palm Tree".

Those left to celebrate his life include his parents, Ralph and Anna Razo of Topeka, KS; his first wife, Carrie Rios of Fontana, California and their children, Alexandria Hewitt (Zachary) of Topeka, KS, Joie Rios of Fontana, California, Brodie Rios of Fontana, California, Colton Rios Johnson of Pittsburgh, KS, and his mother, Mandy Johnson, and grandson, Greyson Hewitt. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Rikie Rios, maternal grandparents, Raymond and Mona Mejia, paternal grandparents, Ralph and Delores Razo.

Richie also leaves behind many aunts, uncles and cousins in California who loved him and will miss him. "
