Wayne E. Mauk

Wayne Eugene Mauk was born June 5, 1948, in Mound City, Kansas, the son of Orlo & Betty Sullivan. Wayne was adopted by Clarence & Frances Mauk and was raised on a farm near Centerville, KS. Betty later married Kyle Shafer, Wayne’s step dad. Wayne had eleven siblings, and graduated from Parker High School in Parker, KS.

Wayne married Patty Roberts and they had one daughter Tami, they divorced.  Wayne & Jackie Minor were married in 1970 and had three children Travis (Angela), Lelah (Roger) & Kyle.  Wayne has ten grandchildren and five great grandchildren.

Wayne was a hard worker and had lots of jobs. He had a lawn service, Lawn’s By Wayne, he was a car scrapper known as the Auto Mortician.  For 15 years he worked for Mather Flare Rental servicing porta-potties, from which he retired and went back to mowing lawns part time.

Wayne was an ordained minister of the gospel and operated heavily in the Gifts of the Spirit.  He served as Assoc Pastor, for We Care Ministries out of Ottawa, and worked in a gospel tent with same ministry.  Later he served as an elder, volunteer and board member of Family of God Church. 

Wayne loved anything involving automobiles, (working, tinkering, driving, detailing). He also enjoyed making wood figurines and toys.  Wayne enjoyed watching westerns and old TV shows.

Wayne went to his eternal reward December 2, 2023, with his family all around, in Topeka. Wayne was very out going and never met a stranger; he will be remembered as a loving person who would help anyone in need. 

The family will receive visitors at Family of God Church, 1231 NW Eugene St., Topeka, Friday, 66608, December 15^th, 1pm, with the Celebration of Life Service will at 2pm. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Family of God Church.
