Michael Dean ‘Mike’ Donnelly

Michael Dean ‘Mike’ Donnelly, 48, passed away Thursday, June 8, 2023, at Midland Hospice House, after a short battle with cancer, surrounded by family.  Mike was born April 23, 1975, in Topeka.  He graduated from Topeka West High in 1994, where he played football and made many lifelong friends.  Mike worked with LKQ Mid-America for the last 11 ½ years, where he held multiple positions.  Most recently working as a warranty supervisor. He also moonlighted as a spirits salesman at Vern’s Retail Liquor for the last two years.

On June 25, 2005, Mike married the love of his life, Ashley Dawn Rhone, at Most Pure Heart of Mary, who he lovingly referred to as his ‘Sugar Momma’.

In his spare time, Mike enjoyed fishing, working on cars, and being with his family and friends. He was an avid sports enthusiast. He loved University of Kansas athletics and the Kan-sah Ciiiiiity Chiefs. He had a heart of gold and was always the life of the party. He came equipped to said parties with a 30 pack of “dad jokes” and beers. He was always quick to help a friend in need. His infectious smile and big laugh will live on, through those that know and love him.

His grandfather instilled a love for all sports, especially football. Mike coached football and baseball for many years with the Topeka Saints organization. He was proud that some of his former players went on to play Division 1 football. It was important to Mike to pass on the love of sports, which he demonstrated in coaching his sons and nephew, Dallas.

Mike is survived by his wife, Ashley; and their children, Ethan ‘Big’, Dylan ‘Middle’ and Braxton ‘Little’; parents John and Linda Donnelly; siblings Angela (‘Big’ Shaun) Smith and ‘Little’ Sean Donnelly; mother and father-in-law Gina and Doug Rhone; grandmother-in-law Beverly Ketter; sister in-law Jessica (Matt) deMontel;  brother-in-law Andrew (Kayla) Rhone; nieces Michele (Michael) Houghton and Keeli Rhone; nephews Dallas Smith, Tucker Rhone, Xavier and Ben deMontel; great niece Laken Houghton; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and framily.  He was preceded in death by his sister, Kylee Jo Donnelly, and grandparents John ‘Jack’ & Arel ‘Irene’ Donnelly; Dallas & Norma Power and Larry Ketter.

A Celebration of Life will be Saturday, June 24, from 5pm to 10pm, at the Auburn Civic Center, 1020 N Washington Street, Auburn, KS 66402.  Please wear either KU, Chiefs, or his favorite color orange.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made out to the Mike Donnelly Children’s Memorial Fund and sent to Blue Cross Blue Shield Credit Union 1010 SW Tyler, Topeka, KS 66612.

Martin Edward Johnson, 67, of Emporia KS, passed away on 5/28/2023 in Topeka Ks at Rose Villa.

Graveside service will be 10:00an Saturday July 1st 2023 at Union Cemetery (East of Emporia KS on Road U between 190 and 200 Road).

Martin Johnson was born in Emporia KS to David and Mary Johnson on 10/30/1955.  He went to school at Reading Highs School.      He was a veteran served as a corporal in the Marines.

Martin Johnson is preceded in death by His wife Linda M Miller, Father David V Johnson, Sister Charlotte Allen.

Martin Johnson is survived by  one Son Jerrald ( Jacinda) Rowson: Sister Jackie Johnson, Sister Paula (Ed) Strudgeon, Sister Jody(Steve) Spielman, Brother Daniel (Susan) Johnson, Brother Matt (Peter) Johnson Brother Toby (Cindy) Johnson : Mother Mary L (Tobin ) Johnson.

Sharon Kay Kelemete

First breath and last breath in topeka ks. Services  will be held at lighthouse bible church on June 15 at 11 am. Beloved Wife to Isitolo "Frank" Kelemete. Daughter to Robert and Virginia, "Brazzle" Shannon. Sister of 17 brothers and sisters whom she helped raise.Mother of 3 Son's Roland Brandt, James Brandt and Doug Desch. Daughters, Sandy Diaz and Susan Brandt. Whom she loved  with all her heart even when not present.Aunt who help raise 7 of her neices and nephews. She had 14 grandchildren  and 4 great grandchildren. Uncle Frank and Aunt Sharon traveled the country living in many states. Sharon worked in health  care for over 40 years. Sharon loved fishing,caring for animals and caring for others .  I believe  she accepted  Christ as her lord and savior. So until.She will be truly  missed. We love you Aunt Sharon.

Born in Topeka Kansas, Rocky met his wife, son, parents and brothers at heavens gates May 28th 2023. He is survived by daughters Renee (Dalton) and Nicole (Rocky) and grandchildren Hunter, and Aleya. Rocky was a man many gifts, most of all his heart. He will be truly missed by many.

He is survived by his mother, Bonnie Harris Abilene , Kansas, sister, Patricia Gaston (Patrick), Fairbanks, Alaska, Sharon Harter (David) Topeka, Kansas four nieces, one nephew, lots of great nieces and nephews. Earlene Louise Hagenmaier of Topeka, age 77 passed away Monday May 22, 2023.

Earlene was born November 7, 1945 in Manhattan Kansas, the daughter of Earl Henry and Bernice Louise (Bergstrom) Hagenmaier. She graduated from Blue Valley Randolph in 1963.

On December 13, 1964, she married George Larry Wiecken. He preceded her in death.

Earlene retired from the Kansas Public Employees Retirement System. She also worked as an Avon Sales Representative.

 Earlene’s greatest priority was her family. In her free time, she enjoyed playing bingo and tending to her flowers. She followed in her mother’s talent and passion with an amazing green thumb and taking care of her many kitties.

She is survived by her brother, Frank Hagenmaier of Randolph; her daughter, Mary Jane Ewing of Topeka; her son George Wiecken and wife Nikki of Holton; seven grandchildren, Joshua Ewing, Tyler Ewing (Tabitha), William Bach (Samantha Weinkauf), Kaylee Ewing (Chris Patterson), Ian Steele, Jessica Foxhoven (Jeremy), George Wiecken; eleven great grandchildren, and one great great grandson.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents Earl Henry and Bernice Louise Hagenmaier; her brother William F Hagenmaier; Daughter in law Marita Hagenmaier; Nephew John Sutton; and two great grandchildren, Jerimiah R Steele and Tanner P Steele.

Linda Sue Steffe, 67, of Topeka Kansas, passed away on May 23, 2023 at Midland Hospice Care Home in Topeka.  Linda lost a hard fought 6 year battle with metastatic colon cancer.
She was born on December 26, 1955 to David Neale Steffe and Joyce Karen Steffe (Larsen) in Sioux City , IA.  Linda was the oldest sister to Kathleen and Steven.
 
She graduated in 1974 from Arnolds Park High School in Arnolds Park, IA. Linda attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake IA for two years before marrying Fred Schmidt Jr.. in Milford, IA.  They were married for 9 years before subsequently divorcing.  After their divorce Linda moved to Sioux City IA  and began to work for Great Western Casualty Insurance Co.  she was transferred to their Boise, Idaho office and lived there for several years.  While living in Boise, she finished her college degree obtaining two Bachelor of Science degrees.  She then moved to Topeka KS  to be closer to family.  Linda obtained a teaching degree at Emporia State College and began her lifelong teaching career.  She was substitute teaching in the Topeka 501 school district just a few weeks before her death.
 
Teaching took Linda to several states including Alaska and South Dakota.  She taught at Savoonga, AK on the St. Lawrence Island in the North Pacific Ocean, at Arctic Village in the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge and at Fort Yukon to name a few.  She would fly in on a bush plane to these remote villages with a couple of suitcases and a few boxes of provisions.  When she needed to stock back up, she would fly to Nome or Fairbanks.  Once during a trip to Nome, she watched the famous Alaskan Iditarod Race finish.  She also taught on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in South Dakota and spent a few summers working in Yellowstone National Park when school was closed.
 

Marion “Pete” Jackson Barrow

Marion “Pete” Jackson Barrow, age 87, passed away May 14th, 2023 in Holton, Kansas. He was born on July 15th, 1935 the son of Charles and Edith (Coleman) Barrow.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date at the Denison Cemetery.

Patricia “Pat” A. (Kaberline) Vinning, age 87, of Topeka, KS passed away at The House at Midland Care on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, surrounded by her two sons and daughter-in-law. 

She was born the daughter of John and Catherine (Burghart) Kaberline on September 23, 1935, in Topeka, KS. 

Survivors include her two sons, Tom Vinning and his wife Debbie whom she resided with the past few years of her life and Dan Vinning, Kingsland, GA; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers Edward Kaberline, Richard Kaberline and his wife Marian. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Tony Vinning; daughter, Jo Ann Vinning; siblings, Mary Jacobs, George Kaberline, John Kaberline, Lydia Porubsky, and Bill Kaberline. 

Pat graduated from Hayden High School.  She had several jobs, but her last employment was with Porubsky’s Grocery Store before retiring.  She enjoyed gardening, flowers and feeding the birds. 

Per her wishes, she was cremated.  Interment will be private, at a later date, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Topeka. 

Memorial contributions can be made in Pat’s memory to Sacred Heart/St. Joseph Parish; Cotton O’Neil Cancer Center; or Midland Care.
