Alice Elizabeth (Erdman) Schultz

Alice Elizabeth (Erdman) Schultz, 93, of Topeka, KS, passed away on Monday, April 7, 2025, at her daughter's home. She was born on May 26, 1931, in Chalk, KS, to John and Alice “Hildreth” Grove Massey.

Alice is survived by her children: Betty Carswell, Topeka, KS; Colette (Cecil) Grahem, Danny (Stacey) Erdman, all of Meriden, KS; and Erica (Mike) Sands, Ozawkie, KS, step daughters Willa and Jana. She is also survived by her sister, Anna Mae Robidou, Dwight, KS; her brother, Gale (Joyce) Massey, Aurora, CO; sister-in-law, Margot Massey, Wichita, KS; 15 grandchildren, 30 great- grandchildren, and 24 great-great-grandchildren.

Alice was a loving daughter, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Her heart was always with her family, and she considered everyone in her life a part of her extended family. Alice never knew a stranger and always showed care and kindness to those around her. A lifelong animal lover, she was known for caring for pets and feeding neighborhood animals. She accepted everyone unconditionally, regardless of their past.

Throughout her life, Alice worked tirelessly, holding various jobs, but her true passion remained her family. She had a deep faith in the Lord and Savior, and we take comfort in knowing she is now in Heaven.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Alice Roberta Peterson; her brothers, Robert Massey, Cleo Dean Massey, and Gary Massey; her great-grandsons, Matthew Kalbach and Trevor Lane; her son-in-law, Barry Carswell; and her husband, Willis Schultz.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on May 10, 2025, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 303 Main Street, Alta Vista, KS 66834. Interment will follow at Alta Vista Cemetery.
