JANUARY 25, 1927 - DECEMBER 28, 2025
Darline Eulalia Shogren, age 98, passed away peacefully on December 28, 2025.
Darline was born on January 25, 1927, in Wilson, Kansas, to Ezra and Lydia Steinle (Major). She grew up with strong Midwestern values that guided her throughout her long and devoted life.
Shortly after the end of World War II, Darline married J Glen, a United States Navy veteran who served as a medic. Together they built a life rooted in love, service, and family. They eventually settled in North Topeka, which remained her home for the rest of her life.
Darline dedicated many years to serving others through her work. She was employed at Wilson State Bank before going to Stormont Vail Hospital in Topeka and later worked as a secretary at Seaman High School, where she was known for her reliability and kind demeanor.
Above all, Darline was devoted to her family. She loved to cook and entertain, welcoming others with warmth and generosity, and she took great pride in caring for those she loved. Her home was a place of comfort, good food, and meaningful conversation.
She is survived by her daughter, Mona Rae Sartell (R. Marquis Sartell) as well as extended family and close friends. She will be deeply missed by her cherished friends Bill Willy, Frank and Marti Nowak, and all who were fortunate enough to know her.
She is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Evalyn Mae Schmidt.
Darline’s life was one of quiet strength, dedication, and love. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.
