Diane Carol DeHart

Diane Carol DeHart, 56, of Topeka, Ks, passed away on January 8, 2020. 

Diane was born on July 2, 1963 to Samuel and Virginia Essman (Proud). She attended Seaman High School and left to obtain her GED. She worked her first job at Mike’s IGA, she was briefly at Adam’s Business Forms and then began her career in photography as a freelance photographer and studio photographer for Zercher’s. She later worked for the State of Kansas as a Computer Technician where she medically retired. 

On November 6, 1981, she married Douglas Leroy DeHart (later divorced). She was a member of Seward Avenue Baptist Church most of her life and served as youth leader. She most recently attended Northland Christian Church. 

Diane loved riding motorcycles, live music, camping, spending time at NOTO events, being a dance mom, gymnastics mom, spending any time she could with her grandkids and having fun with family and friends. She, in turn, was deeply loved and will be greatly missed. 

Diane is preceded in death by her parents, stepmother Patricia Essman (Coffey) and her brother Randy Essman. 

Survivors include Diane’s children, Kayla DeHart-Cox (William A), Samuel DeHart and Savanah Reeves; her grandchildren, Aaralyn DeHart, William D. Cox and Brayden Cox; her siblings Terry Essman (Linda), Benny Essman, Keith Essman (Margie) and Crystal Essman; Her step-siblings, Tammy, Sherrie, Holly and Tate; Savanah’s father, Tracy Reeves; many nieces and nephews as well as great nieces and nephews. 

A celebration of life will be held at Forest Park Conference and Retreat Center on January 18, 2020 at 3:00 pm.
