NOVEMBER 30, 1951- JANUARY 26, 2025
Earl Ray Allison was born November 30 th, 1951, in Topeka. KS to Pete Ray and Hazel F. (Moran) Allison. On January 26th , 2025, five months after being diagnosed with terminal cancer, Earl met his Savior Jesus Christ face to face.
Born a small baby, around 4 pounds, Earl received special love and care from his mother. Sometimes even being bribed with money by his Uncle Earl to eat. This love and care contributed to Earl’s nature of caring for others. From an early age, with natural mechanical abilities, Earl was working on his own vehicles and motorcycles, making his improvements and additions and always keeping them in impeccable condition. Earl learned the value of hard work at a young age working for Skinner’s Nursery and Ramada Inn before graduating from Seaman High.
For over 47 years Earl traveled coast to coast as an over the road truck driver, making many lifelong friends along the way, logging over 5 Million Miles with no accidents, working for Convoy most of his career, Frito-Lay for years and FirstFleet Inc. After retiring off the road Earl became a valued employee at Laird Noller Ford and later O’Reilly’s Auto Parts in Topeka. In never knowing a stranger, Earl easily made friends, always willing to help wherever and whenever needed. Earl loved to spend time at car shows displaying his beloved 2004 Mustang and visiting with friends. Cruising the open roads on his Harley was also a favorite past time. On September 17 th , 2020, Earl met the love of his life, Tanya Greeve, and it was love at first sight. Earl and Tanya spent 3-1/2 years in Texas before moving home to Holton, KS in July of 2024.
Earl leaves behind his wife Tanya of the home, stepchildren David (Joy) Carlson, Randolph, KS; Jessica (Joe) Boeckman, Randolph, KS; James (Salena) Moss, Mayetta, KS; and Jason (Katie) Moss, Hoyt, KS; eight grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren, a sister Judy Bent and brother Pete Allison, both of Topeka, nieces, nephew and a host of friends all across the country.
Please join us for a celebration of Earl’s life from 11 am to 3 pm on Saturday, March 15 th , 2025, at The Woodshed in North Topeka. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials in Earl’s name be made to St. Croix Hospice of Topeka, KS.

My prayers are with you Tanya and your family. Earl will be missed very much. I will never forget all our special times in Texas. Earl did so much for me in good and sad times. Remembering him and you being there for me with Sophie. Earl helping me with my car and so many other things. All of our days and time working at the park all three of us. What fun we had!!!! I use to kid him and call him Pops!! He is in a place now with no pain or suffering with Our Lord and Savior. What a wonderful angel they have gained and now will be looking down upon you. Always here for you all my love and prayers are with you.
Love You,
Cheryl
I met Earl back in '95 when I hired on as a driver with Convoy. It didn't take long to realize he was friendly, smart, kind & funny. Known as "Night Owl" on the C.B. radio, we often talked as I either followed or met him on the long roads to Los Angeles & back. Never do I remember hearing him say anything you wouldn't want little children to hear. Later, he helped me hire on with First Fleet and giving me my driving test. He even helped train me and assisted me when my tractor broke down, most likely taking a cut in pay doing so. Earl was a true gentleman of the highway. Recently, I was sad to hear of his declining health but glad that he confided in me regarding his eternal well-being. We both agreed that Christ alone provided at great cost, our salvation from our sins. It is our responsibility to truly bow down at His nail-scarred ankles, repent and ask him to forgive us. Jesus is Lord and Savior and he solely paid the ultimate price to rescue and save us. I hope some wonderful day, we all will have the privilege of meeting Earl again, where no cancer is allowed and all of our needs will be fully and forever met, thanks to Christ's shed blood on the cross. May "Night Owl" rest in His peace. - Howard "Skyscraper" Kelsey
Earl was my true friend. We worked 3rd shift at Penske Logistics together. Earl always helped everyone that needed help, as long as you had common sense LOL. A few of us who worked together always made light of working the night shift, never a dull moment. We continued to be friends after they did away with the third shift and went are separate ways. Once he drove from Topeka, Kansas to Odessa, Missouri just to help put skirting around our camper. After he met Tanya, we didn’t get a chance to see each other, but always checked in talking on the phone. He sounded so happy after he met her. We tried to get together so I could meet her, but circumstances that came up it didn’t happen and the next time I saw him and met Tanya, the cancer had taken hold. I went to see him and could tell she was the love of his life. They only had 3 1/2 years together, but I’m sure it must have been the happiest. I will miss my friend, but there will always be the memories in my heart. RIP my friend, I know you’re in gods hands.
