DECEMBER 01, 1978 - JANUARY 28, 2025
Crystal Lynn Wilkins, a cherished soul born on December 1, 1978, in Topeka, passed away peacefully at her home on January 28, 2025. With a heart full of love and compassion, Crystal illuminated the lives of everyone she encountered.
Her educational journey was marked by early beginnings, completing her GED with pride. A vibrant presence, Crystal had an amazing personality that drew others to her. She was the embodiment of kindness, always prepared to lend a helping hand to those in need. Her caring, passionate nature made her not only a wonderful friend but also an incredibly loving mother, sister, and wife. Crystal truly had the biggest heart in the world, touching the lives of many.
Crystal’s interests were as diverse as her loving demeanor. She was a devoted fan of the Kansas City Chiefs and found joy in her Harley Davidson rides. Whether it was taking long walks, indulging in horror movies—especially the likes of “Halloween” and “Friday the 13th,” for which she proudly adorned her angel truck with Michael Myers stickers—or enjoying the beauty of life’s simple pleasures, Crystal’s zest for life was infectious. Her passion for music echoed throughout her home, filling it with joy and memories.
Among her proudest accomplishments was her unwavering devotion to her children. Everything in her life revolved around her family. She successfully balanced the roles of a mother and engaged community member, participating on the fundraising committee for Jefferson County Fireworks at Perry Lake.
Crystal leaves behind a legacy of love through her beloved husband, Dwayne Whitebread, and her daughters, Skye Wilkins, Michelle Wilkins, Ivy (Tristan) Kelley, and Marissa (Wyatte) Montgomery. Her son, Jacob Wilkins, along with her treasured grandchildren, Ada, Azra, and Ryver Kelley, will forever carry her spirit in their hearts. Also remembering her are her sister, Ashley (Matt) Lendermon, her stepmother, Julie Heston, her former husband, Eric Wilkins, and her sister Angie (Jason) Lee.
Crystal is reunited in spirit with her father, Robert Heston, stepfather Jim Chalender and her grandparents, Albert and Genevieve Heston. Their memories serve as a guiding light for all who knew her.
As Crystal Lynn Wilkins departs from this life, she leaves behind a profound legacy of love, laughter, and kindness that will forever be cherished by her family and friends. Her spirit continues to shine brightly in the hearts of those she touched, and her life will always be celebrated in the laughter and love surrounding her children and grandchildren.
