Margaret (Peggy) E. Cardinal

 

Margaret (Peggy) E. Cardinal, of Topeka, KS; formerly Otoe NE, passed away on June 3, 2025 at Stormont Vail Hospital. The eldest of 5 children. Peggy was born in Jackson MI in April of 1944 to Dorothy and Johnny Moon

 

Peggy moved around a lot through the years, she returned to the education setting to receive her GED and earning an Associates of Business through Glendale Community College. Settling down in Phoenix, AZ after meeting Mike and eventually moving to Nebraska.

 

 

Even after retirement Peggy was an accountant and beloved Avon consultant in Otoe NE, accumulating over 20 years. She enjoyed many hobbies and pastimes; and she loved to share her widely learned knowledge with those who’d lend an ear. She loved gardening, crocheting, traveling, cooking her specialties and serving the Lord. If not working she would undoubtedly find a comfortable spot in front of the nearest tv. A fanatic for nearly any genre of show or movie, she loved a trip to the theater for an impromptu double feature, snag lunch or even a shopping trip. 

 

Margaret is predeceased by her parents, 3 of the 5 siblings, grandson Matthew Allen and her husband Michael (Mike). Mike and Peggy met in 1975 and were married 28 years. When Mike passed they together had 7 children, 19 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Margaret is survived by siblings Howard (Buster) Moon of AZ, Dorothy Goulet (Chris) of MI, and brother-in-law William (Bill) Cardinal. Also her children, Connie Hernandez (Eli) of AZ, Cheryl Srader (Jason) of OK, Deanna Blankenship (Matt) of AZ, Michael Cardinal Jr of NE, Tina Cardinal of TX, Brandy Carlson of KS and Bethany Meyer (Rowdy) of KS. Peggy is smiling down on her pride and joy, now 19 grandbabies and 9 great grandbabies.
