Better known as Bob, he was born in Dallas, Texas September 2,1939 to Dr. William Thomas Jr and Kathryn Thomas. Bob lost his dad at a very young age leaving him to grow up living with mother. They traveled back and forth between Texas and Colorado before setting off on his own joining the Navy at 16 and beginning boot camp shortly after his seventeenth birthday. He earned his G.E.D. and was trained in diesel mechanics. He served on the U.S.S. Nereus.

He saw the world through the Navy and loved to travel in all forms. After a few adolescent misadventures, he would continue to travel the U.S. as a truck driver for most of his life. His favorite trips were always to the west coast and he was able to see it one more time before retiring for the last time around the age of 70.

Bob was an avid HAM radio operator known as N0ECP and had many friends that he made through the radio from around the world. He would often talk about how he talked to these people from around the world and received numerous post cards.He proudly displayed them in his "radio rooms".

Bob is survived by Robbie Rego (Johnny) Sacramento, CA; Billie Jo Thomas Vancouver WA; Jackie Pinto (Tom) Denver, CO; Brooke Reed (Bret Mayes) Hiawatha, KS; Robert Jr (Jennifer) Hiawatha, KS; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He lived a full life and will be greatly missed.
