Stephen D. Cook (1954-2024)

JUNE 25, 1954 - JULY 27, 2024

Stephen D. Cook, age 70, of Topeka, KS, died peacefully and quickly of cancer on July 27, 2024. 

He was born in Lyon’s, Kansas on June 25,1954 to Donald and Phyllis Cook. In 1956, the family celebrated the addition of Stephen’s younger brother, Terry Cook. Stephen graduated from Highland Park High School in 1972 and attended university at Washburn University, where he met his future wife, Martha. He graduated from Washburn in 1977. Taking after his father, he joined the military, starting in the Navy and ultimately retiring from the Air Force in (2001). 

Stephen was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Corbett. He was survived by his father, Donald Cook, but Donald Cook joined him in death three days after. He is survived by his brother, Terry Cook, his wife, Martha Cook, and daughter, Katelyn Cook. 

The service will be a celebration of life event at Topeka Bible Church, where he had many dear friends, date soon to be determined. He was cremated at Angels Above, Topeka, KS, and his ashes will be buried at Maple Hill Cemetery.
