Thomas D. Mohr, Sr.

September 15, 1946 - November 21, 2021

Thomas D. Mohr Sr., 75, died November 21, 2021, at Topeka Center for Rehabilitation and Nursing in Topeka, Kansas. He was born September 15, 1946, in Great Bend, the son of Carl Mohr and Zoe Hull. 

Tom was the youngest of 10 children. He spent a few years serving in the United States Navy in the early to mid-1960s. Although a plumber by trade, Tom also spent several years working in the oil fields of central Kansas alongside some of his brothers. Tom’s Mother passed away before his fifth birthday, so his eldest brother “Buddy” took him in and raised him after that. Tom spent most of his adult life living and working in Houston, Texas.

Tom was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Loretta Pierce, his brothers; Carl Mohr, Robert Mohr, and Douglas Mohr; his sisters, Virginia Sharp and Joyce Lofland; and one grandson Gary “Bubba” Burkdoll. 

Tom is survived by his two children Tom Jr. and Shammie; and his older siblings; Rosilyn, James, Richard, and Marilyn; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
