October 24, 1943 - November 03, 2022
Duke transitioned from this life Thursday, November 3, 2022. He was born October 24, 1943, at Emporia, Kansas to James Eldon and Virginia Windsor. He married Sara Jennings on May 31, 1975, in Independence, Kansas.
Duke was a member of North Star Lodge #168 AF&AM and Arab Shrine. He was an Air Force veteran having served in Vietnam. He was a lifetime member of the Vietnam Security Police Association.
He was the best of men.
Left behind is his loving wife of 47 years, brother-in-law Kenneth Jennings of Lyndon, niece Laura (Bob) Sidlinger, great-niece Ashley (Casey) Bryan both of Topeka, and his beloved Maltese Misty Moon.
A private graveside service for immediate family was held at Orange Cemetery near Mount Vernon, Missouri on November19, 2022 with military and Shrine honors. A small celebration of life will be held in Topeka for friends and family on December 10, 2022 at 11 am to 1 pm at the Unity Church of Christianity, 9126 SW 10th Avenue, Topeka.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Helping Hands Humane Society (5720 SW 21st Street, Topeka, KS 66604) in his name.

I was so sorry to have heard about Duke. I immediately recalled him in our Citizens Academy in 2017. He had a dry sense of humor which was amazing! Loved getting to know him and Sara. My sympathies to the family.
