Cindy Mae Spratlin, 59, of Abilene, Kansas, peacefully left this world on November 16, 2024

Born in Topeka, Kansas, on September 14, 1965, Cindy was the daughter of Virgil Lee and Velma Mae (Adams) Dighera

She was raised in McFarland, Kansas, before briefly moving to Topeka with her mother. Later in life, Cindy moved to Florida, where she built a family and raised her children. After many years, she returned to Kansas and made her home in Abilene, where she spent the remainder of her life. Cindy dedicated much of her life to caring for others. She worked as a teacher's aide and spent many years as a homemaker. Her greatest joy was being a loving mother, grandmother, and sister, and she was known for sassy ways. Cindy was a "grandmother" to many, offering her love and wisdom to all who needed it

She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Velma Dighera. Cindy is survived by her children: Brian Dighera, Kimberly Carter and David Gomes; her grandsons: Daniel Dighera, Elijah Carter, Isaiah Carter, Isaac Carter, Wesley Persing; Her Granddaughters: Elianna Dighera, Lillianne Dighera, Sophia Persing, Alayna Persing, and Isla Love; her sister, Vickie Stephens (Dennis); and her brothers: Larry Dighera (Carol), Dennie Dighera (Sharon), Sammie Dighera (Linda), and Stevie Dighera (Andrea), along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family

Cindy was a passionate animal loverShe had a special bond with her dog, Sassy, who was by her side for many years

She was also a devoted member of her church community, finding comfort and strength in her faith. Cindy loved spending time with her family and friends, always making them feel welcome and cherished

She will be deeply missed by all her family and friends

Funeral services for Cindy will be held on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 10:30 AM at First Southern Baptist Church, 1400 N. Mulberry St., Abilene, KS 67410. Her minister, Dave Parker, will officiate. Following the service, Cindy's remains will be laid to rest beside her mother, Velma Mae Dighera, at West Lawn Memorial Gardens. 820 SW Auburn Rd., Topeka, KS 66615.
