July 15, 1935 - May 14, 2023
Marion “Pete” Jackson Barrow, age 87, passed away May 14th, 2023 in Holton, Kansas. He was born on July 15th, 1935 the son of Charles and Edith (Coleman) Barrow.
Private graveside services will be held at a later date at the Denison Cemetery.
September 23, 1935 - May 16, 2023
Patricia “Pat” A. (Kaberline) Vinning, age 87, of Topeka, KS passed away at The House at Midland Care on Tuesday, May 16, 2023, surrounded by her two sons and daughter-in-law.
She was born the daughter of John and Catherine (Burghart) Kaberline on September 23, 1935, in Topeka, KS.
Survivors include her two sons, Tom Vinning and his wife Debbie whom she resided with the past few years of her life and Dan Vinning, Kingsland, GA; 6 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; 8 great-great-grandchildren; two brothers Edward Kaberline, Richard Kaberline and his wife Marian.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Tony Vinning; daughter, Jo Ann Vinning; siblings, Mary Jacobs, George Kaberline, John Kaberline, Lydia Porubsky, and Bill Kaberline.
Pat graduated from Hayden High School. She had several jobs, but her last employment was with Porubsky’s Grocery Store before retiring. She enjoyed gardening, flowers and feeding the birds.
Per her wishes, she was cremated. Interment will be private, at a later date, at Mt. Calvary Cemetery-Topeka.
Memorial contributions can be made in Pat’s memory to Sacred Heart/St. Joseph Parish; Cotton O’Neil Cancer Center; or Midland Care.
August 12, 1961 - April 29, 2023
Annette Yvonne Dumas Sheler was born August 12, 1961 in Garden City, Kansas. Annette was predeceased by her parents Raymond and Janet (Burch) Dumas. She is survived by three brothers and one sister.
In the late 1980's, Annette received Christ as her Lord and Saviour and dedicated her life to pleasing and serving her Heavenly Father. In the early 1990's, Annette moved to Seneca Kansas and went to achieve her life long goal of earning her G.E.D. and then pursued her CNA certificate. She worked as a CNA for many years and then advanced to complete her Home Health Certificate in which she touched many lives with the power and love of Christ.
In 2000, Annette was introduced to Dennis Sheler who then became the love of her life. Dennis and Annette was married on March 25, 2001. They moved to Topeka Kansas where they made their home. For all of their 22 years of marriage, Annette was a loyal and faithful wife and mother.
Annette departed this life on Saturday April 29, 2023 at Midland Hospice Care. She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband Dennis Sheler; three daughters (Roshaunda Stringer, Iishshaa Jesse (Justin Jesse), and Micah Sheler; One son Anthony Dumas (Victoria Baxter); and seven grandchildren (Aleeya Williams, Jewels Williams, Taylor Dumas, Kiersten Dumas, Gaberyl Jesse, Emmerie Jesse, and Malakai Jesse. Also, Annette leaves her Word and Spirit church family and life long friends Mike and Rhonda Schmelzle All of whom she loved very deeply.

December 28, 1958 - April 27, 2023
Allan C. Inman, 64, passed away April 27th, 2023 at Midland Care Hospice House in Topeka, KS. Allan was born December 28th, 1958 in Topeka, KS to Robert (Bob) Inman. Allan graduated from Burlingame High School in Burlingame, KS in 1976. After serving 4 years as a Sonar Technician in the US Navy being stationed in San Diego, CA he moved to Topeka, KS and then Overbrook, KS. Allan is survived by his 3 sons, (James Inman [Christine] of Madison, KS, Andrew (Andi) Inman [Taylor] of Berryton, KS, and Dalton Hurt of Topeka, KS), 3 grandchildren (Owen & Cora [James], Hunter [Andi]), a sister Debbie (David) Parks of Holton, KS, a brother Rodney (Jennifer) Inman of Harrisonville, MO, 3 nieces and 1 nephew. Allan was proceeded in death by his parents, Robert & Paula Inman, and his grandparents, Elmer and Bernice Carrier. Allan will be laid to rest at Linn Creek Cemetery, Berryton, KS interred beside his parents. Graveside service will be July 8th at 10am.

February 18, 1978 - April 19, 2023
Jeff Andrew Ensley, 45, of Topeka, KS, died on April 19, 2023. Jeff was born February 18, 1978, in Topeka, KS. He was a 1996 graduate from Topeka High School, where he was involved in student government and active in the music and theater departments. He participated in musicals, choir, jazz band and talent shows.
He graduated from Washburn University with a Bachelors degree in English Literature (Dec 2003); Emporia State University with a Masters degree in teaching English as a Second Language (May 2008); and a Masters degree in Library Science and Information Management (Aug 2014).
Jeff taught English at the University of Engineering, Science and Technology in Xi’an, China; Handong University and Sunlin College, Pohang, South Korea. He also taught international students at Kansas State University, Manhattan, KS and Washburn Tech, Topeka, KS.
Jeff worked at the Mabee Library at Washburn University; the Topeka & Shawnee County Public Library as a Bookmobile driver; Hale Library at Kansas State University; and most recently the Library at Kansas Juvenile Correctional Complex. He served as the Event Coordinator and later the President of the Student Chapter of the American Library Association.
January 02, 1945 - August 16, 2022
Thomas E. Roberts, 77, passed unexpectedly on 8/16/22 at home. He was born January 1945 in Youngstown, OH, to Thomas and Esther Dornes Roberts. Tom lived in Auburn, KS, and attended all 12 grades there, graduating in 1963 and then graduating from Technical School in Kansas City. He spent most of his career at Topeka Foundry and Iron Works.
In 1964 Tom married Jane Henderson and they were blessed with three children, Kevin, Brad and Diane. He is survived by his wife , Brad (Lyn) Roberts, Diane (Tom) Sakers, his adored grandchildren; Bryce (Sara) Roberts, Blake (Shannen) Roberts, Taylin and Daxton Sakers; great grandson, Jonny Roberts; and sister, Bobbie Flaherty.
Tom was preceded in death by son, Kevin; grandson, Brett; and great grandson, Lincoln Roberts; his parents and sister, Sharon.
Cremation has occurred with a burial service at Auburn Cemetery on May 7th 2023 at 3 pm.
Memorials in his name can be sent to TARC or Helping Hands Humane Society.
December 03, 1960 - April 18, 2023
Trent Mitchell Ruse (aka Trently, Rowdy, Trently Claus) 62, passed peacefully April 18, 2023, at Heritage Gardens, Oskaloosa Kansas after a lengthy battle with Parkinson’s Alzheimer’s. He was cared for by prairie wind hospice of Topeka ks (an amazing group of people).
Trent was born December 3, 1960, in Topeka Kansas to Larry and Carol Ruse, Trent lived his entire life in Topeka. Trent married Tamara J. Salts June 20th, 1987. They were married 36 years. Trent spent many years working at Designed Business Interiors as installation supervisor and manager of the warehouse. Trent also owned his own roofing company. He was a long-time member of A.B.A.T.E of Kansas and participated in the Toys for Tots rides. Trent belonged to Mayetta Lodge #383 for 30 years and a member of Eastern Star of Mayetta for 29 years.
Trent was an avid fisherman. He loved spending his summers camping, boating and 12 oz curls with his friends and family at the lake. He was a proud patriot and loved the 4th of July. He loved his nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. He also loved spending time with his animals, dog - Gizzeiemo, and cat Oreo.
Trent was preceded in death by his parents Larry and Carol Ruse and Mother-in-Law Martha Salts. Trent leaves his wife of 36 years Tamara J. Ruse, and Father-in-law Leland Salts. Also surviving are brothers, Rocky (Robin) Ruse, niece Laura Beth (Don) Carey and Nephew David Ruse (Mallory Marks) great niece Daltynn and great nephew Rider; Ricky Ruse, and son Shane (Brandy), and great nephew Zachary. Also, Sister-in-law Beverly (Greg) Escobar. Nephew Ryan (Katie) Salts, great nephew and niece, Jaxon, and Jostyn. Also surviving are: Greg(Hadley)their son Conrad, Traevion(Andrea) their sons Aiden & Bryce; Tanner(Jandy) Sons Caden & Sammy & daughter Annistyn; Nicole(Ryun),their son Braylon and daughters Jazlyn, Gianna & Sabre; Brother in law Scott
(Paula) Salts, Niece Courtney (Venus) their sons Carter & Vachi, and nephew Joseph, his son Dylan and daughter Rylee.
