Charles Howard Linn died peacefully at home on March 17, 2020.

He was born in 1932 in Ardmore, Mo., to John Howard Linn and Mary Adaline Thompson Linn and graduated from Macon Missouri High School in 1950.

Mr. Linn was a true polymath and had an insatiable curiosity about all things. He graduated from the University of Kansas with a Bachelor of Civil Engineering in 1959 and became a surveyor for the Kansas Department of Transportation.

Later, his deep commitment to the preservation of the environment and resource conservation led him to join the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, where he authored some of the State’s earliest solid waste statutes. He worked at KDHE until 1994.

Better known as Bob, he was born in Dallas, Texas September 2,1939 to Dr. William Thomas Jr and Kathryn Thomas. Bob lost his dad at a very young age leaving him to grow up living with mother. They traveled back and forth between Texas and Colorado before setting off on his own joining the Navy at 16 and beginning boot camp shortly after his seventeenth birthday. He earned his G.E.D. and was trained in diesel mechanics. He served on the U.S.S. Nereus.
He saw the world through the Navy and loved to travel in all forms. After a few adolescent misadventures, he would continue to travel the U.S. as a truck driver for most of his life. His favorite trips were always to the west coast and he was able to see it one more time before retiring for the last time around the age of 70.

Charlene Carol Bowin Persinger

December 24, 1943 - March 11, 2020

Charlene Carol Bowin Persinger left this world on March 11, 2020. She was born in Pittsburg Kansas on December 24, 1943 spent most of her life in Osage City Kansas.  There she raised two daughters and a son.  

She spent most of her days feeding the community who resided at Peterson’s Nursing Home as she was the head dietician.  She retired from there on December 31, 2013.

Glenda Ruth Thomas Kearse Wake, 71, transitioned Tuesday, March 3, 2020. She was born in Topeka, Kansas on October 15, 1948 to Albert M. Thomas Sr. and Opal E. Eddington Kearse and later adopted by George Kearse.

She was educated in the Topeka public school system where she attended East Topeka Junior High School and graduated from Topeka High School.

After high school she gave birth to a daughter with Horatio Faulkner.

Glenda had a lot of LOVE for music. She had an eloquent singing voice and a gift for articulating words with expressive talking and speaking. This drew her to attend The School of Broadcasting in Kansas City, Missouri. She had also written two books.

Teresa JoAnn (Lawrence) Lynch

Teresa JoAnn (Lawrence) Lynch 55, of Dunlap, passed away on the evening of March 7, 2020 at Midland Hospice in Topeka, Kansas with her family by her side. She was born July 24, 1964 in Charleston, South Carolina. Teresa met her best friend and husband Mark Lynch in 1997. Throughout her life Teresa had a love for animals, crafting and her family and friends. She enjoyed a good laugh and the outdoors.

Robert L. Bell, 54,  passed away on Wednesday March 4, 2020 at his parents home near Maple Hill, Ks after a long battle with illness.  
 
He was born January 13, 1966 in Laramie, Wyoming to Graham and Jane Bell  He graduated from Mission Valley High School where he was an outstanding math and science student.  He attended both Kansas State University and Pittsburg State University.

How does one quantify a life that was a hundred years long? To tell everything about a man who lived such a lifetime is mind boggling. It is impossible to do justice to the life of a man who was so kind, caring, and hard working that he touched the lives of everyone he encountered in his hundred long years of life. Howard Ray Long, a husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, left this earthly life Saturday, February 1, 2020 in Topeka, Kansas. Howard was born on December 20, 1919 to Henry and Ida Long. He was raised in Dover, Kansas, along with two sisters, Hazel and Ruby and three brothers, Paul, Lyle, and Elmer, all of whom have preceded him in death. He was an upholsterer by trade and worked for many years in the Santa Fe Railroad shops upholstering train cars. He also, for a time, co-owned and ran his own upholstery shop with his brother.

Billy Franklin Hennessee, 73, passed away on Tuesday February 11, 2020 at home with his family by his side.  He was born to Clyde & Famey Hennessee Sept. 30, 1946.  
Billy graduated from Highland Park High School in Topeka in 1964  He joined the Navy, which he served 4 years in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged in 1969.  He
then married Dorothy Becker in 1969 and were married 17yrs.  They have 3 children.

Charles Raymond Glaze, “Ray” died at home from Merkel cell cancer on February 8 th , 2020 surrounded by his family. He was born August 1 st , 1934 in Baltimore, Maryland to William LeRoy Glaze and Helena Gertrude Phelan Glaze. He was predeceased in death by his parents and his older brothers; Bill, Bobby, Jack, Gorman, Richard and his little sister Helene. He is survived by his loving wife Cicely Bennett Glaze, 7 Children; Caren, Ray Jr. (Brenda), Cyndi, Kelly, Corky, Bob (Kathy), Cristin (Chris) and grandsonn Mark
who was raised by Papa and Cis and 10 additional grandchildren; Ray III (Michelle), Corey, Catherine (Tanner), Cydney (Skyler), Morgan (Trevor), Tisha, Mitch(Heather), Michael, Taylar and Rylee as well as 13 great grand Children; Peyton, Rhyan, Eli, Asher, JJ, Leighton, Corbett, Kyla, Emma, Aivyn, Kaylee, Ava
and Maci and Brothers- in- law Mark L Bennett Jr (Charlanne) and Stephen Bennett.

Franklin Lee Tatro was born on September 21, 1933 and went to his eternal home on February 2, 2020.
He grew up in Zenda, KS. Later, he worked at Pratt Well Service and in the oil fields around Pratt, KS. He married Patsy (Montgomery) Moore. They later divorced.

 'Frankster' walked softly and wore a loud shirt.    He accepted life on life's terms.  With 40 years of continuous sobriety he shared his experience, strength, and hope helping many on the path to serenity in the rooms of Alcoholics Anonymous. He will be missed but his legacy will live on through his wise words and ancedotes.
