Michael "Tad" Good

November 19, 1962 - January 03, 2021

Michael “Tad” Good, age 58, was born on November 19th, 1962 in Salina, Kansas to Floyd and Carolyn Good. He returned to his heavenly home on January 3rd, 2021 due to Covid19.

Tad graduated from Rossville High School in 1981, and in 1982 he married his high school sweetheart, Deb “Carathers” Good. In 1985 Tad enlisted in the U.S. Army. He joined to be a military police officer and progressed up to a Special Agent in the U.S. Army Criminal Investigation Command (CID). After 11.5 years of service, he departed with an honorable discharge in December 1996. He then began a new journey working for the Social Security Administration, where he made his way from a Field Service Specialist to a Group Supervisor to the Facilities Project Manager and Claims Authorizer. During the beginning years of working with Social Security Tad also took classes at DeVry University (1998-2001) where he got his Bachelor of Science-BS- in business information systems and graduated with honors, Magna Cum Laude. After almost 16 years of working Social Security, he retired. After retiring Tad decided to work as an insurance agent at Integrity Insurance Agency where he worked for 5.5 years.

Jessie Kemp Ruddle McCamon of Topeka, Kansas peacefully died January 3, 2021 with her daughter by her side. Her two children Mike and Lea had been with her during the final days of her life after being admitted into the hospital on the 30th for health issues (non-Covid related). She was 80 years old. Born in Keota, Oklahoma, “Jeannie” spent much of her childhood in and around Stigler and Keoto, Oklahoma - the latter of which she proudly claimed as her hometown. As a teenager her family moved to Wichita where she graduated from Derby High School in 1958. After later graduating from Wesley Nursing School, she was a nurse for decades at Wesley Medical Center and the Sedgwick County Health Department in Wichita. Health challenges nudged her into early retirement and about five years ago she moved to Topeka to be closer to her children and grandchildren.

Survived by her companion of 26 years, Kenneth Sands.

Also surviving is her only son, her pride and joy, Carl (Jay) Robertson

Sisters, Naomi Clifton (Virgil) and Louise Callarman (Orien), deceased)

Five nephews and 2 nieces who cherished their aunt. We also can’t forget her 2 pups, Sassy and Katie that she lived fiercely. 

Carlotta worked at several places including Topeka Tent and Awning and Payless Shoe Source.

A Celebration of Life will be at a later date.

Tara Shay Barnes

January 25, 1973 - December 25, 2020


In loving memory of Tara, we are saddened to announce her passing to the above on Christmas morning, 2020, after bravely fighting daily with longtime illnesses.

Tara graduated from Silver Lake High school and attended Kansas State University before joining the Aviva company as an annuity consultant.

Throughout her life she loved her pets and animals. Her horse, cats, and most of all her dachshunds and German Shepherd. They never failed to have her love and tender care.

Her most joyous times were spent on the rivers of Missouri, camping, floating and kayaking with family and friends. She loved K State sports, the KC Royals, the KC Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes.
 
Tara is survived by her mother Janell (Jim) Parry, Maple hill, father Dennis (Susan) Barnes, Topeka, brother Doug (Wendy) Barnes, San Antonio, TX, significant other Judd Rokey, Topeka, aunt and uncle Mike and Luann Miller, Concordia, aunt Theodessa Mamoth, Andover, nephews Isaac and Caleb Barnes and niece Savannah Barnes, San Antonio, TX, cousins Jason Miller, Portland OR, Garrett Miller, Olathe, Jennifer Torgerson, Andover, and Jeff Saffer, Los Angeles, CA, and her loyal dachshund, Charly.

Never complaining about the health problems she endured throughout half her life, Tara was the epitome of courage. She will be dearly missed.

Robert “Bob” Donahue, 79, Silver Lake, passed away Dec. 23, 2020. He was born to Mike and Alice Donahue on Aug. 22, 1941. 
He graduated from Hoyt High School in 1959. After high school, he  served in the Army. Afterwards, he worked at Dupont/Flexel/UCB for 30+ years. Bob was united in marriage to Mary Winter on Dec. 22, 1962.
He loved playing sports and later on watching them, especially the KC Chiefs and Royals. His pastimes were hunting, fishing, gardening, and playing cards. He didn’t know a stranger and everyone who knew him would know how he loved to talk. 
Survivors include his wife, Mary, daughters, Lori DeVorss (Wally), Linda Wichman (Mike), and Lisa Conus (Casey). He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and a sister Sandra Rickel (Jim). He was preceded in death by his son Steven Donahue. 
A celebration of life will be held Jan. 23, 2021 from 4-7PM at the American Legion North Topeka Post 400 3029 US-24, Topeka, KS.

Homer "Buzz" Jobes- Passed away Monday December 21,2020 at his home from Renal Cell Carcinoma.
He was born August 17,1944 to William Jobes and Violet Moffit in Moundsville West Virginia. He was preceded in death by his father William and mother violet and sister Starr Savo.
He survived by his sister Marsha Wassum of Moundsville West Virginia, His beloved wife of 40 years Mary Jobes they married may 13,1980. He has 3 children , Melissa Wetterau of Orlando Florida age 45, Spencer Allen of Topeka Kansas age 42, Melissa Jobes of Topeka Kansas age 40. He has 12 Grandchildren, Alexis Hollenbeck, Christopher Hollenbeck, Marissa Wetterau, Thomas Wetterau, Austin Wetterau, Aaron Ryan, Adysson Cobuluis,  Ashton Allen,  Azra Cobuluis,  Makenzie Allen, Carter Allen, Cooper Allen; 3 Great grandchildren, Martavion Vaughn, Montavion Vaughn, Ma'Kiyah Vaughn.

Dixon J Vincent, aka John Vincent, of Topeka, Kansas passed away in the early morning on December 20, 2020 at Hospice Midland Care of Topeka. He was born in Topeka on March 20, 1960 to parents Dixon J Vincent of Grand Junction, CO and Joyce M Lake of Topeka, KS, both deceased.

Dixon was a Seaman High School graduate. He joined the army and was stationed in Germany. He worked at M. Katch, and Company, now Langley Recycling, for several years. He went on to obtain his CDL License and worked for Meier’s Ready Mix as a dump truck and cement mixer driver.

Stephen M. (Steve) Byers passed away on Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at Stormont Vail Regional Medical Center.  He was born February 13, 1950, to Donald L. and Mary Jane (Janie) Byers.  

Steve attended high school in Topeka and Little Rock Arkansas before being drafted where he served 2 terms in the Vietnam War with the 101st Airborne (Screaming Eagles) and received the Bronze Star for his service.  

Steve loved the outdoors, especially fishing, where he spent many a day and evening at nearby lakes with his brother-in-law Jerry.  He loved a good fish fry with all the fixings and was a great all around chef.  He enjoyed sitting around visiting and sharing stories with family and friends.  Steve never met a stranger and will be fondly remembered by the many patrons met while operating a vegetable stand for several years in southwest Topeka.

Matthew Ryan Poore passed away on November 26th, 2020 at his parents home during the night. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska on December 30th, 1985 to Darlene Regnier and Phil G. Poore. Matthew is survived by his mother, father and older brother Philip J Poore of Topeka, Kansas.
There will be no services at this time, instead Matthew will be cremated with a spreading of ashes for friends and family at a later date.

Greg Kevin Villegas passed away peacefully on November 22, 2020 at his home surrounded by family. He was born on May 29, 1975 to Jesse and Angela (Barranco) Villegas. He attended Our Lady of Guadalupe, then went on to graduate from Hayden High School.

In his young life, he worked at Payless Shoe Source and Goodyear Tire & Rubber. He then went on to pursue his career as an operator at Frito Lay, Inc. in Topeka, Kansas.

Greg is survived by his twin sons Anthony and Adrian Ramirez-Villegas, his partner Jenny Valdivia (daughter Raymie), his mother Angie, his sisters Jennifer Villegas-Foy (Clifton) and Amie Alvarado (George), his brother Jesse Villegas (Lora) and his nieces and nephews Trey, Carmelo, Dorothea, Antonio, Natalia and Alicia.
