January 17, 1933 - January 04, 2023

Robert(Bob) Dale Davenport age 89 from Topeka, Ks peacefully passed on January 4, 2022 ay Stormont Vail Hospital. He was born on January 17, 1933 to Chester A. Davenport and Hannah L. Davenport(Louise Ceiling) in Kansas City, Ks. He graduated from Topeka High in 1951. He attended Washburn University where he met his wife Carolyn, then Pittsburg State University graduating in 1962. He returned to Pittsburg a few years later getting his master’s degree. He was an Industrial Arts teacher at Jardine Jr High for one year. He then moved to Landon Jr High where he was the head football coach and Industrial Arts teacher for 10 years. While teaching Bob started Robert Davenport Construction building houses during the summer.  When he quit teaching, Bob built houses full time and was a successful Residential Contractor in the Topeka area. He built many homes mostly in the Lake Sherwood area until he retired at age 75.  He enjoyed golfing, sailing, traveling, fishing, and watching all types of sports. Bob and Carolyn were involved in many of the social activities at Lake Sherwood. He married Carolyn A. Carson in 1955. They were married for a wonderful 67 years until he passed. He is survived by his wife Carolyn, daughters Kathy Zeckser, Theresa Swearingen(Brad), his son Mark Davenport, 5 grandchildren, 6 greatgrandchildren, 2 brothers Jay & Phillip and 2 sisters JoAnn & Karen. He was proceeded in death by his parents and brother Gene.

Per Bob’s wishes, his body is to be cremated. Angles Above is taking care of the cremation.

September 10, 1951 - December 29, 2022

Linda Gail Dunn (Bailey) of Topeka, Kansas passed away in her home surrounded by her family on Thursday, December 29th, 2022 at the age of 71. Linda was born on September 10, 1951 in Columbus, Indiana to Samuel and Stella Mae Bailey. On November 7th, 1986, she married Ronald E. Dunn. Linda retired from the State of Kansas Division of Printing after 30 years of service. After Linda retired from the State, in her free time, she volunteered at St. Johns Lutheran Church as a sacristan, worked on their monthly newsletter and delivered flowers during the holidays to the elderly congregation. Linda was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She loved nothing more than to spend time with her family whether it be hour-long phone calls or just stopping by for a visit. Linda enjoyed shopping for antiques and she could never pass up a good handbag. She gave the best advice and was never afraid to speak her mind. She loved spending time with her great-granddaughters and they looked forward to those special days they got to spend with their “Nana.” Linda also enjoyed watching her grandchildren play sports and was always on the sidelines cheering them on.

Linda is preceded in death by her father, Sam and her mother, Stella. She is survived by her husband Ron of 37 years, her sister Carol Pelayo, and their four children Dinel Cropper (John), Tamara Barber (Tim), Randy Dunn (Rena) and Scott Gray. She is also survived by her 12 grandchildren, Dylan, Dalton, Chase, Rhyan, Cameron, Kristian, TaiSheona, McKenna, Randall, Matt, Sam, Dustin and her two great-granddaughters, Serenity and Makenzie. Linda’s celebration of life will be held on Saturday, January 28th, 2023 from 10am-2pm at 5045
SW West Hills Dr. Topeka, KS 66606. Any donations will go towards breast cancer research.

February 12, 1942 - December 23, 2022

Melvyn B. Morgan Hagen of Emporia, Kansas, formerly of Fayetteville, Arkansas, passed away December 23, 2022, at the age of 80.  He and his late wife, the former Mary Ellen Lane of Runnels, Iowa, had moved to Kansas to be closer to their daughter and son-in-law.

Melvyn and Mary Ellen were married in Runnels, Iowa at the Reorganized Church of Latter-Day Saints. They made their home in Altoona, Iowa.  

Melvyn worked as a surveyor with Bishop Engineering and as a teacher at United Electronics Institute in Iowa and then went to work for IBM in Iowa and then Colorado. While in Iowa he and Mary Ellen travelled a lot to weekend bluegrass venues setting up equipment and recording equipment for the various performers. When he retired, he and Mary Ellen moved to Arkansas and he kept busy with things like playing the organ and the accordion, his ham radio group BCRO, helping the neighborhood kids with their homework and even his grandkids with their college math homework.  He loved his grandkids, Bluegrass music, and his dogs (Miss Trudy, Maynard, Reggie, Polly, Gabby, and Sonny).  His parents were Melvin and Genevieve Hagen who predeceased him, as did his nephew Brent Jones and brother-in-law Holly Hollobaugh.

He is survived by his daughter Tamara (William Blalock) of Emporia Kansas, granddaughters Jessica (Nicholas Bradford), Rebbeca Segelhurst, Janet Segelhurst, a grandson Christopher (Ashley) Segelhurst, a sister Joann Hollobaugh of Phoenix, a nephew Jon Drew, and 5 Great-Grandchildren. As well as numerous extended family members in Iowa, Wisconsin, and Arizona.  A memorial service will be scheduled for Melvyn and Mary Ellen together, at a later date, in Winterset, Iowa.

November 30, 1939 - December 25, 2022

Sue Coleman-Munoz, 83, passed away on December 25, 2022 at Oak Creek Senior Living in Topeka, KS.

Sue was born to Curtis and Orlene (Boxell) Coleman on November 30, 1939 in Topeka, KS. Sue married Larry Breuninger and they had two children together. They were later divorced. She married Randy Lefebvre and they later divorced. She married Phil Munoz. He preceded her in death. Sue was also preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Sally McCabe (Mike) of California. 

Sue is survived by her sister, Sandra Hubbard (Gary) of Arizona, son, Larry Breuninger Jr (Stephanie), daughter, Jill Tiller (Mike), five grandchildren, Mark Breuninger, Austin Breuninger, Breanna Emig, Courtney Emig and Dylan Emig, three step grandchildren, Kali Thomas, Lacey Monhollon and Brian Tiller, six great grandchildren and eight step great grandchildren. 

Sue’s family would like to thank Winona and her staff at Oak Creak Senior Living for the wonderful care she received while she was a resident there. 

Per her wishes, Sue will be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held on January 8, 2023 from 11:00a to 2:00p at Lake Shawnee Shelter House #6, 3521 SE East Edge Rd, Topeka, KS 66605.

December 18, 1960 - December 04, 2022

Elizabeth A. Holle of Topeka passed away on December 4, 2022 at Stormont Vail Hospital. She was born on December 18, 1960 to Robert D. Olmstead and Charlotte A. Olmstead (Wrye) in Great Bend, Kansas.

Elizabeth grew up in Dodge City and Garden City, Kansas.

She was proceeded in death by her father Robert in 2020.

Survivors include – her mother Charlotte (Topeka); sister Diane (Georgia); brothers Tony (Maine) and Michael (Kansas City); three children - Cassandra, Christopher and Courtney (all of Topeka); three grandchildren – Shawn, Shaylee, and Aleena (all of Topeka); three great-grandchildren – Eliana, Shayla, and L. Lamar Jr (all of Topeka).

Memorial services for family and friends will be held at a later date.

March 04, 1964 - December 01, 2022

David F. Cameron of Topeka, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2022 at the age of 58.

He was born March 04, 1964, in Topeka, Kansas, the son of Alan Cameron and Alice Lueb Cameron. 

David attended Holy Name Grade School and Topeka High School.

David was an avid KU Basketball fan, he enjoyed fishing and going to the drag races.

Survivors include sisters, Patti Jackson (Maurice) and Libby Hermanson (Jim); brothers, Tim Cameron (Sandy) and Kirby Cameron (Tammy); nieces, Piper Naimabadi (Reza), Ali Cameron, Grace Young (Andre) and Sawyer Cameron; nephews, Reece Bartron, Andrew Cameron and Austin Cameron.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Mike Cameron and sister Anne Bartron.

Private inurnment will take place at a later date. A Celebration of David’s life will also be held at a later date.

February 04, 1975 - December 02, 2022

Eric Vaughn Bauman left this world unexpectedly on December 2, 2022 at the age of 47.

He was born February 4, 1975 in Salina, KS.  He grew up in Niles, KS until moving into Salina at the age of 10.  Years later, he attended Salina High School South and Kansas Wesleyan University.  Although he lived several years in Louisiana and Texas, Eric stayed near Salina most of his life.

He was a man of many talents and skill sets.  He worked for Cargill AG Horizons in recent years but always enjoyed jobs where he worked with his hands, such as S & S Drywall in Bennington.  His favorite job though was his time spent in Houston, assisting victims of Hurricane Harvey to process claims and repair their homes. 

He was a talented artist, sketching and drawing often at people’s request, even designing tattoos.  He was a big Chiefs fan and tried to watch every game.  He also collected anything with their logo on it, from t-shirts and jerseys of his favorite players to night lights and Christmas ornaments.   He leaves behind his beloved Labrador retriever, Olive, and his cat, Popeye, whom he often referred to as his kids.

December 03, 1958 - December 03, 2022

Evon Briggs, 64, of Topeka, KS passed away at home on December 3rd, 2022. A private memorial for family will take place at a later date.
Evon worked for Lawton Public Schools in Lawton, OK for 25 years, working at both Park Lane Elementary and Edison Elementary over that time span, where she made many life long friendships. She had an immense amount of love for her family, and she adored animals.

She was preceded in death by her parents Lloyd and Yoshi Briggs, her grandfather Carl Briggs, her grandson Michael Hallstrom, and nephew William Sulzer.
She is survived by her children Faith and (Richard) Hensley of Comanche, OK, Alan and (Jill) Hallstrom of Petal, MS, and Nicole and (Karen) Hallstrom of Topeka, KS, a sister Charlotte Sulzer of Colorado Springs, CO; two grandchildren Logan Hallstrom and JD Hensley and a nephew Sean Sulzer

September 08, 1973 - October 27, 2022

Shannon Lynn Slover age 49 passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 27, 2022, in Topeka, KS due to cancer complications.

Shannon was born in Topeka KS on September 8, 1973. She was a 1992 graduate of Seaman High School.

She was predeceased in death by her biological Mother, Mary Jane (Farrell) Slover and Grandparents.  She leaves behind to honor her memory her parents Geary & Diane Slover, brothers Travis (Judy) Slover and Tanner (Kerry) Slover, her nephew Stevie Slover, her Bestie Mindy Parrack along with many aunts, uncles cousins, friends and her beloved cocker spaniel Coco Puff.

Shannon was a happy soul and had a contagious laugh.  She loved deeply and compassionately and loved to just have fun.  In her words, she loved us like a fat kid loves cupcakes.  We miss you Shannon.

Per her wishes cremation has taken place and a celebration of life will be held at a later date.
